Co-operative Education Courses

Government of Nova Scotia

is a course available to grade 10-12 Co-operative education is experiential in nature, allowing learners to integrate classroom learning, personal interests, and goals with career exploration and real-world experience.

Skilled Trades Courses

Government of Nova Scotia

Skilled Trades courses provide students with an opportunity to experience a realistic trades workplace environment by combining academic learning with practical workplace skills.  Students taught by a certified journeyperson will be granted NSAA practical hours towards an apprenticeship (110 hours of credit per course).

Technology Education Courses

Technology Education courses are designed to help develop the students’ abilities to solve problems, become independent learners, thinkers, and decision makers. Courses include Technology Education 7, 8, 9; Construction Technology 10; Production Technology 11; Energy, Power and Transportation 11; Production Technology 12; Construction Technology 12.

High Skills Major Certificate Program Pilot

Government of Nova Scotia

The High Skills Major certificate program students earn their high school diploma while completing courses, and experiencing opportunities related to career interests. Pilot launched in 2023. Five certificate options: Arts, Health and Wellness, Skilled Trades, Digital Innovation and Technology, and Early Childhood Education.

Mobile Construction Experience

Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council

Participants of the Mobile Construction Experience (MCE) are immersed in a live, outdoor “construction zone”. The MCE is a one-of-a-kind custom 53’ trailer, built to showcase Industrial-Commercial- Institutional (ICI) construction sector careers. Hands-on activities are guided by industry professionals at each of the booths.

Developed in partnership with industry and the Province of Nova Scotia, the Hall features 14 interactive exhibits (booths) where visitors can learn about construction careers by participating in a variety of hands-on demonstrations and speaking with industry professionals at different stages of their careers.
